CASE STUDY - COPPER EAGLE
About Copper Eagle Patrol & Security
Founded by Bill Corbett in 1987 in Santa Clarita, California - Copper Eagle Patrol & Security is the largest patrol fleet operating in the Santa Clarita Valley. Since then, the Copper Eagle team has grown to over 80 members and a fleet of 13 vehicles. The company provides patrol officers and security officers - armed, unarmed, plain clothes and uniformed - from a 24-hour radio dispatch and communications center for residential, commercial and industrial customers.
The Introduction
The management team at Copper Eagle had been researching GPS fleet management solutions and approached Universal Tracking Technologies, Inc. back in January of 2000. Based on our analysis of their business needs, we recommended the Validator V2000 and, more recently, the Validator V4200 GPS tracking solutions for all of the vehicles in their security fleet.
The Test
With daily security calls and routes, Copper Eagle needed a way to monitor the productivity and effectiveness of their workforce. They also had a desire to be able to prove late hours, patrols, and provide answers to their many customer inquiries. Additionally, due to the rapid rate of growth in the area, the Santa Clarita Valley has experienced some heavy traffic and congestion problems, so getting around town to service their customers and patrol their regular routes quickly and efficiently is a big priority for Copper Eagle.
The Results
To date, Copper Eagle has utilized GPS for record-keeping on all of their vehicles and has enjoyed the many benefits of the detailed reports and concrete data provided by their GPS tracking solutions. Bill Corbett reports that although specific dollar amounts are unknown, the return on investment is evidenced by continued business.
Copper Eagle remains very satisfied with the level of support and customer service provided by Universal Tracking. In a recent survey, Mr. Corbett stated that it is "highly likely" that he would recommend a GPS tracking solution from Universal Tracking to a colleague and would continue to purchase additional units to support the continued growth of his fleet!

We used the "Start/ Stop" report to work with our drivers on unnecessary or long stops.
